First you need to know what makes you feel successful. Do you measure it by the amount of money you earn,by the number of people you influence,or just by raising a family. What ever the definition of success is to you,they all have one thing in common; it’s based on what other people think.
We need to get rid of that notion, sure praise from coworkers and other parents and society as whole is great, but if you don’t feel you accomplished what you set out to do,then their praises are hollow at best.
Keep goals in sight. Dream big dreams,but realize short term, realistic goals are the keys to success. Remember successful people envision their future what it’s going to look like. They work everyday to achieve their goal.
Another aspect in succeeding is to have fun. It’s easier to succeed in what you are doing if you have fun at it and enjoy doing what your doing. Can you imagine a football player succeeding if he didn’t enjoy the game. The key is to make each task enjoyable.
One key component to succeeding is to believe in yourself!!! You have probably heard the old saying from Napoleon Hill; whenever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Believe in your abilities, find what your best at and capitalize on those strengths.
Remember the measure of your success is by over coming your failures and mistakes in life, and emerging on the other side a better person. That is one of the true marks of success.
So if you have your own business or are thinking of starting one, I hope this gives you something to think about. And hopefully it’s a reminder nobody can stop you from being successful but you.
