Need to lower your blood pressure? Reduce Stress?
Here’s a simple, yet extremely effective way to bust those stresses in your life. While seated in a comfortable position, think of a stressful event, situation or activity. Put the tips of your ring finger and thumb together on the right hand,? put the tips of your ring finger and thumb together on our?left hand.?Now place the index and middle fingers of each hand on your forehead, about an inch above your eyes, above the arch of?your eyebrow, directly in?line with your pupils.?
?While leaving your fingers in place, think about a stressful event you can’t seem to release from your mind and move your eyes in a large circle, looking straight up to where your fingers are located, then slowly rotated your eyes to the side, then?down and around to the other side, coming back to the starting place, then?reverse?directions., now going in the opposite direction moving slowly as you continue to think about the stressful event or situation.?
For Example, Using the finger placement, you begin thinking of your stressor, i.e. “I?have an interview tomorrow…I have an exam tomorrow,,, I?had a fight with my spouse…I am worried about my medical test results…. any number of stressors may be released and eliminated. The key is to engage your conscious mind in the thoughts, feelings, and sensations while holding the finger placement. You may use it for past, present, or future stress. Even anticipating seeing the mother in law at Christmas! This technique has measurable results using blood pressure monitoring as measurement.
