Many college students attempt to skip the upper end psychology classes, and wish to focus on more concrete studies. And yet, for many this might be a mistake. Let me explain. You see, whether you are a left brain or right brain thinker, does not mean you should not utilize the whole brain. Psychology course might very well help you with your reasoning abilities and separate our logic from emotion, or vice versa.

Recently, a college student who’d left school reasoned to me that psychology studies were worthless. I’d beg to differ, and although I am not a huge fan of psychology, I am indeed going to attempt to defend it here. The college student told me; “Psychology all seemed to me to be useless, or even damaging, to delve too deep into in regards to my interests. Psychology seemed only to describe the brain, and not the mind.”

There seems to be a disconnect and a slight misconception here, and in answering this excuse to be excused from psychology classes, I’d say; well, it depends, some think it is the opposite, and might say Neuroscience is about the brain and psychology is about the mind.

Of course, it’s all mixed now, as neuroscience is confirming or debunking many psychology theories, and it is very hard to separate the brain from the mind. Indeed, in defense of the University Attender’s
